Acne Makeup: Do or Don't?

Ok, so let's face it. You have acne, and no matter how much you've cleansed, toned, exfoliated and moisturized, the acne is still there. So the question becomes: do you put makeup on top of your acne, or not?

I think yes, with some cautions.

Applying foundation can be tricky and it becomes even more complicated when dealing with blemishes. Sometimes using too much acne makeup can make you look worse than you did when your face was bare. We have all seen those people who tried very hard to cover acne, but didn't quite make it. In these cases, the acne makeup made the acne look worse, not better.

The first rule of thumb for acne makeup is to apply foundation lightly and sparingly. Don't overcoat your pimples with too much foundation- it won't make the problem better, and might, in fact, make it worse.
