Teens and Acne

Teens get acne because of the hormonal changes that come with puberty.

Acne is a very common disease, and first appears as clogged pores (comedones). Recent research shows acne can leave both physical and emotional scars for teens, especially when it is not treated early and aggressively.

One thing that makes acne treatment difficult is that there is no "one medicine fits all" approach.

Different people respond differently to various kinds of acne medications, so most often acne sufferers have to go through trial and error to find the treatments or regimens that work best for them.

Acne is the most common disease worldwide, and the one most often treated by dermatologists.

The good news is that treatment for acne has come a long way in the past twenty years, so more options exist now then before.
